Birth — every home should have one! Those were the words of Jaden and Mary. A young Adventist couple, desirous to live according to the Word of God, choosing to have a home birth. To say the least, their decision was a bit challenging and disturbing for some of their friends, co-workers, church members and family. These first time parents stood firm by their decision.

Mary hadn’t been getting any prenatal checkups except via email from me. Although the couple lived in another country, they trusted in God to take care of everything to have a successful birth.

The couple had a special request of God regarding their home birth. — that their baby be born during the day and not on the Sabbath. With a June 26th EDD, it came and past —but no baby. This brought some concern to the pregnant mother, however, an explanation was given which brought some comfort.

At last, on July 8, the baby began to stir and labor was in progress. As the mother labored, walking was encouraged which caused the contractions to come more frequent and the birth become more imminent. In a few short hours, a 7 pound baby girl entered the world. Overall, all went well and the mother’s prayers were answered — her newborn was born at 5:10 p.m. and not on the Sabbath!

After the birth of a child, every family should have a testimony, “for it [shall be] a witness between us that the LORD [is] God” (Joshua 22:34). “There’s no place like home” may have all new meaning after reading about these stunning experiences and see the birth photos of moms and their babies delivered in their homes.

We would like to share “inside stories” of families who experienced a home court advantage, victoriously…..God’s way!
