History is a mirror that allows us to see future events.”

CESAREAN, a. The Cesarean operation is the taking of a child from the womb by cutting; an operation, which, it is said, gave name to Caesar, the Roman emperor.

Caesar, n. Used as a title and form of address for Roman emperors. A dictator or an autocrat.

Historically speaking, Caesar was acknowledged by the world as a great man, but did God regard him as such? No; he was not connected by living faith to the great Heart of humanity. He was in the world, and ate, and drank, and slept, as a man of the world; but he was satanic in his cruelty. Wherever this monster of humanity went, bloodshed and destruction marked his pathway.

He was lauded by the world while living; but when he was buried, the world rejoiced. This Roman emperor was regarded as a usurper. As for Caesar, it is a fact that his power was not only very seductive but also addictive.

From birth, Jesus was hated by Caesar. There were a few things they had in common. They were both kings. They both shared the needs of humanity. One was of the earth and the other was from heaven. One was the Son of God and the other was a son of Satan. Caesar Augustus was made the agent for the fulfillment of God’s purpose in bringing the mother of Jesus to Bethlehem.

In the past, the laws of God and the laws of Caesar have come into collision, and will come into collision again. The question we have to answer is, Shall we obey God, or Caesar? You might be asking, “What does Caesar have to do with cesareans?” Symbolically, Caesar(ian) aka “c-sections” has become the status quo, the establishment that has built a hierarchy of power as the recommended “doctor friendly” procedure by “modern” medical care. Basically, in childbirth, instead of choosing Jesus’ (maternal) gospel, many do not realize that thousands are perishing every single day, vainly believing in a cunning counterfeit gospel saying “We have no king but Caesar(ians)!” John 19:15. Hold this thought……..!

Today in America, maternal care is a billion dollar business for hospitals, even though the U.S. is the 2nd worst in infant mortality rate in the developed world. Caesarean section as a method of delivering babies has become a common procedure in the U.S. that one out of three babies is born by this method. Yet we know that there is a greater risk of sickness or death in both the infant and the mother when this method of delivery is used. Once a woman has a C-section, she is generally spoken of as “an obstetrical cripple” since there are some disabilities that occur in her function of having a baby at all subsequent times. If for no other reason than to avoid the section risks to subsequent babies, every effort should be made to avoid delivery by the C-section route.

Maternity care for God’s professed people is no different from the world because many have entrenched themselves in believing “what is true is false” and “what is false is true.” Christians are to dwell alone and not be reckoned among the nations. God is to be their God and His laws are to be the highest authority over them. Pregnancy and childbirth requirements for Ancient Israel are ever the same for Modern Israel today. Truly, there is nothing new under the sun. Based on biblical records, c-sections were performed in the past and the results were not favorable. Consider these Scriptures:

“Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that [were] therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not [to him], therefore he smote [it; and] all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.” 2 Kings 15:16.

“Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. Hosea 13:16

“Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away [the punishment] thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their  border;” Amos 1:13.

The Lord has a controversy with His professed people in these last days. It is serious business to claim to be a Christian and at the same time, mingle and mix with the world’s customs and traditions. Many are doing so at the peril of their souls and the souls of others who follow their example. If we put our trust in the “arms of flesh,” we can only expect to have the same results which is a heavy price to pay.

The old medical adage “once a Caesarean, always a Caesarean” needs to be revamped. Women who have had previous Caesarean section(s) should consider having a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section). However, about 98% of American women who have once had a Caesarean section will be forced by their physician’s choice to repeat the Caesarean with the next baby.

Futhermore, many elective c-sections are being performed due to some of the most amusing reasons. I am so amazed at people who schedule the birth of their baby just for their convenience! Let it be NATURAL!! The way it was supposed to be!! I have heard of women having a scheduled c-section because they have family scheduled to be in town; because they want the baby to be born on an anniversary or someone else’s birthday; because they want the baby born prior to Jan. 1 for tax purposes; or because they are simply sick and tired of being pregnant. Also, I’ve heard stated that the mother does not want to be awake, or have any discomfort during birth. I find that pointless, because a c-section involves cutting a lot of major muscle groups, has potentially life threatening side effects, and requires a longer recovery time. So what does the mother ‘escape’ from? Plainly, a recovery from a VBAC is much easier than a C-Section recovery.

Here’s a news flash: Don’t go under the C-Section knife again without the truth.  Now, notice these facts. Having any c-section is risky. All c-sections are full abdominal surgery.  They increase a woman’s risk for more physical complaints following delivery; the recovery period is also longer, and women are three times more likely to die having a c-section. In addition, Insurance companies pay a fortune for women to have them and, in some cases, even more for the complications. C-sections account for 1/3 of all births  in the United States, and is the most common operation performed in U.S. hospitals. The hospital is a war zone. Who today does not know that to be the truth? Only those who have no experience with hospitals! Need we say more? Indeed we will.

The toll c-sections takes on the body are as follows:

Scar tissue on the uterus and/or organs. Scar tissue or adhesions form after each a c-section and they occur after having any type of abdominal surgery.  If abdominal adhesions are vast they can cause abdominal and bowel problems years later.

Bladder and/or bowel injuries.  Bowel and bladder injuries increase due to scar tissue that have developed. Sometimes the bladder adheres to the uterus and separation can cause injury.

Heavy bleeding or Blood transfusions. The risk of heavy bleeding increases with each subsequent c-section as does the risk of hysterectomy due to heavy bleeding.  The risk of a hysterectomy increases from after the first c-section to multiple c-sections.

How do women break the grip? Don’t be dismayed because where there is a will, there is a way. First, stopping before you start. Never let a doctor force you into agreeing to having one. Have a godly midwife assist you at a home birth. A kind suggestion is If you are planning on having more children but you’ve already had 1 or more c-sections, please give your body sufficient time to heal between surgeries.

TALES OF VICTORY

When people come to Christ it is a miracle above miracle. God is faithful and just to forgive and bless His people, if they would only repent. He has admonished us to “Learn not the ways of the heathen.”  Jeremiah 10:2. No matter how many c-sections have been performed, you can be delivered by a VBAC. It’s a victory and a relief for the women who have one. A deep and generous healing for many who have been scarred. Remember, It is not your efforts that bring victory; it is seeing God behind the promise, and believing and trusting Him… which is “the victory of our triumphant.”

From the beginning about Jesus…..now the rest of the story! When Christ was about to be crucified, Pilate (a Roman) took his place on the judgment seat, and presented Jesus to the people, saying, “Behold your King!” The mad cry was heard, “Away with Him, crucify Him.” In a voice that was heard far and near, Pilate asked, “Shall I crucify your King?” But from profane, blasphemous lips went forth the words, “We have no king but Caesar.” This episode you have just read took years to come to fruition.

Now for some prophecy. Read Daniel chapter 2 about King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. What the king saw was four kingdoms that are in chapter 7. Babylon was the gold. Medo-Persia was the silver. Greece was the brass and Rome was the iron. In the feet, the iron was mixed with clay. All of these metals are political. The clay is a symbol for God’ s people. See Jeremiah chapter 18. It is serious business to claim to be a Christian and at the same time, mingle and mix with the iron. Many are doing so at the peril of their souls and the souls of others who follow their example. The iron represents Caesar’s kingdom and no matter who sits in Caesar’s seat, he is Caesar.

Will Christians choose Caesar(ians) over their God and Saviour? Even more, is history repeating itself and prophecy being fulfilled? May God help us to change our course in childbirth while there is still time.
